چکیده

Within the context of ongoing taxonomic revisions of terrestrial flatworms from Australia and the Subantarctic Islands of New Zealand: (1) a new subfamily of the Terricola, the Anzoplaninae, is erected, and some subantarctic terricolan taxa are reassigned to the new subfamily; (2) diagnoses for the subfamily Caenoplaninae and genus Coleocephalus are emended; (3) the new genera Anzoplana and Fyfea are erected; and (4) the new species Anzoplana trilineata is described. A lectotype is designated for Fyfea carnleyi (Fyfe).

The spread and distribution of terrestrial planarians (Turbellaria: Tricladida: Geoplanidae) within New Zealand

The New Zealand flatworm, Arthurdendyus triangulatus (formerly Artioposthia triangulata) has become established in the British Isles and the Faroe Islands and its human-mediated spread within Northern Ireland and Scotland is well documented. The geographical distributions within New Zealand of it and two related species, A. australis and A. testacea have always been assumed to reflect the natur...

Notogynaphallia ceciliae sp. nov. has an elongated body with parallel margins and five dorsal dark longitudinal stripes on a yellowish ground. It possess branched efferent ducts, each branch opening separately into the anterior and median thirds of the long prostatic vesicle. Comparative commentaries o...

A robust molecular phylogeny of the Tricladida (Platyhelminthes: Seriata) with a discussion on morphological synapomorphies.

The suborder Tricladida (Platyhelminthes: Turbellaria, Seriata) comprises most well-known species of free-living flatworms. Four infraorders are recognized: (i) the Maricola (marine planarians); (ii) the Cavernicola (a group of primarily cavernicolan planarians); (iii) the Paludicola (freshwater planarians); and (iv) the Terricola (land planarians). The phylogenetic relationships among these in...

A new species of terrestrial planarian (Platyhelminthes: Tricladida: Terricola) from south Brazil.

Geoplana josefi sp. nov. of South Brazil is described herein. The species shows etary polymorphism. Neither youngs nor adults show the characteristic colour pattern of the mature worms. The species has a multilayered lining in the female atrium. The allopatric G. trigueira, which does not have such a lining, is similar externally and internally with adults of G. josefi, its seminal vesicle, how...

The invasive New Guinea flatworm Platydemus manokwari in France, the first record for Europe: time for action is now

Non-indigenous terrestrial flatworms (Platyhelminthes) have been recorded in thirteen European countries. They include Bipalium kewense and Dolichoplana striata that are largely restricted to hothouses and may be regarded as non-invasive species. In addition there are species from the southern hemisphere such as the invasive New Zealand flatworm Arthurdendyus triangulatus in the United Kingdom,...
